Clinical Microbiome Services Center

The TGen Clinical Microbiome Service Center is a high performance microbiome research and service center that is dedicated to high efficiency with best in class standards. TGen uses state of the art genomics and bioinformatics, along with a dedication to rigorous QA/QC systems that are lacking in most microbiome research laboratories. The Microbiome Services Core can provide custom end-to-end service, from consulting on study design, including appropriate sample collection and handling, choice of sequencing platform, through bioinformatics analyses.

The Service Center works with clinical and research partners to investigate the relationship of the microbiome to human health and disease, as well as animal and environmental health. In addition to collaborating with investigators at TGen and City of Hope, the Services Center will work with public health organizations, healthcare providers, academic and industry partners.


We provide comprehensive microbiome services including:

Our sequencing applications for microbiome study include:

  • 16S rRNA Gene Sequencing

  • Targeted Pathogen-specific Amplicon Sequencing
  • Whole Metagenome Sequencing
  • Whole Metatranscriptome Sequencing (RNAseq)
  • Microbial Genome Sequencing (viral, bacterial, fungal)

The Clinical Microbiome Services Center provides standard, fee-for-service and research arrangements with clients and collaborators. We do not accept samples from individual consumers.
