Coni Waltzing was diagnosed with Adrenocortical Carcinoma (ACC) in December, 2005 at the age of 26. While her fight with ACC was full of hardships - sickness, surgery and a brutal chemotherapy regimen - she continued to live life to the fullest, laughing with her friends, playing with her nieces and nephews, planning her September wedding and encouraging everyone else around her to "Keep Smilin'". Despite her upbeat attitude, and her inspirational determination to beat cancer and move forward to her bright future, ACC proved to be an insurmountable foe. Coni passed away on July 20th, 2006, three days after her 27th birthday and two months before the wedding she never got to experience. While Coni is gone now, her memory lives on. A memorial has been established in her name to support TGen's efforts to find a cure for ACC, in hopes that in the future, this disease cannot cut short a life as full as Coni's.
