Anna H. Scirone went to the Lord on April 24, 2013 surrounded by her family.  Born in Brooklyn, NY to Anello DeMaio and Rose Napolitano on October 27, 1924 survived by her husband of 66 years, Joseph J. Scirone V. and 5 children, Joseph Scirone VI.,  Maria Monty and husband Ron, Neil Scirone and wife Michelle, Joann Jones and husband John Paul, and Mark Scirone and wife Shell. 

Anna was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Toni Cafone, brother Frank DeMaio and wife Vivian, Father Arthur DeMaio, sister Phyllis Solino and husband Nick. She was preceded in death by her brothers Arthur, Fred and Danny DeMaio, sisters Ester Tragali, Lucy Picarello and Vera Vingelli.

Anna and her husband Joe moved from Brooklyn, NY to Albuquerque in 1966. They owned Geno's Foods during the 1970's.  She also made manicotti for Caruso's Restaurant for 25 years.  Anna loved spending time with her family and was an amazing cook and loved to bake.  She won a blue ribbon at the New Mexico State Fair for her pound cake.

Visitation will be held on April 29th, 2013 at 6:00pm at Riverside Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary at 7:00pm.  Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:00am at Riverside Funeral Home followed by a burial at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30pm. A gathering will be held at the family home afterwards.

Anna's family would also like to thank all of the wonderful extended family members that have been so supportive throughout this difficult time. They would also like to thank her nurses and caregivers at Canyon Transitional Center for the exceptional care they gave her during the last several years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be sent to support her great-grandson Jayse Monty at "Jayse's Mito Rascals" Research Fund for Mitochondrial disease. Mitochondrial disease is an incurable neurodegenerative disease.
