Collecting SCCO Specimens

All specimens (tumor tissue, blood or saliva) donated to this research study are given a study-specific code. Clinical data is also collected from patients, but it is also coded. This means that no one at TGen will know the identity of the study participant. The participants will only be identified by their study code. TGen scientists will utilize the latest technologies available to measure molecular changes in the tumors and blood of SCCO patients.

If you have been diagnosed with SCCO, (or you are the guardian of a loved one lost to SCCO), please consider helping us to fight this disease by providing part of your tumor and / or a small amount of blood for this research study. In addition, we will ask to collect some of your medical information, through completion of a participant questionnaire. There is NO COST to you to participate. All shipping and handling costs will be paid by TGen. You can withdraw participation at any time and any of your specimens that are remaining will be destroyed. The participant questionnaire asks some basic demographic and medical information to help us better understand symptoms, risk factors and treatment response predictors.

If you are a blood relative of an SCCO patient, please consider helping us by providing a DNA sample in the form of saliva for this research study. In addition, we will ask to collect some of your medical information, through completion of a participant questionnaire. There is NO COST to you to participate. All shipping and handling costs will be paid by TGen. You can withdraw participation at any time and any of your specimens that are remaining will be destroyed. The participant questionnaire asks some basic demographic and medical information.
