Heidi Howard Woody, 51, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Tony Milton Woody died Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Heidi was born April 20, 1966 in Columbia, South Carolina, daughter of John Edwards Howard and the late Margaret Torlay Howard.
Soon after her birth, the family moved back to Charleston, S.C. Heidi graduated from Bishop England High School in 1984 and went on to attend the College of Charleston where she graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Heidi was married in April of 1989 to her husband Tony, and they settled in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. They enjoyed travelling, exercising, and dining at creative eateries. Heidi entered the mortgage business for the sole purpose of helping people. She was a natural, as she enjoyed people and her bright smile and warm personality brightened up every room she entered.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Milton Woody of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; daughter, Margaret "Maisie" Woody of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; father John E. Howard (Pat) of Charleston, S.C.; brother, John "Jack" Howard (Suzanne) of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; three sisters, Lisa Howard Churchill of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Heather Howard Otterbein (Fred) of Wando, S.C., and Courtney Michelle Howard of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
Heidi began her courageous fight against pancreatic cancer in December 2016, undergoing three different chemotherapy regimens at the Medical University of South Carolina, and the Virginia G Piper Cancer Center. Heidi was fighter and made many crosscountry trips to receive treatment, scans, and consultations. She was fully dedicated to beating her cancer and this terrible disease.
