Dr. Richa Pandey is a postdoc in the Vinodh Narayanan Lab in the Neurogenomics Division at TGen, where she studies rare childhood disorders. For National Postdoc Appreciation Week, Dr. Pandey answered Three Burning Questions for us about her life in the lab:
- What is the best thing about being a postdoc at TGen? I am fortunate enough to get a chance to be associated with TGen. I get opportunities to collaborate with other scientists and share our knowledge, thoughts and technologies. Here, everyone helps each other.
- What is the most interesting aspect of your role? I got the chance to teach interns and supervise them and see them grow as a scientist.
- How did you get into science? My grandma was having Tuberculosis infection, and she passed away with multi-drug resistant tuberculosis. At that time I was a kid. I always used to think why does this disease happen? Can we treat this infection at an early stage so that it should not reach to that infectious situation? That was the time when I started thinking about science.
