Dr. Candace Lewis studies neurological disorders. She is a postdoctoral fellow in the Huentelman Lab
Dr. Candace Lewis is a postdoctoral fellow in the Matt Huentelman Lab in the Neurogenomics Division at TGen. She answered Three Burning Questions in honor of National Postdoc Appreciation Week:
- What is the best thing about being a postdoc at TGen? Not having to deal with Arizona State University traffic and parking.
- What's the most interesting aspect of your role? I love the in-between of my current role as a scientist. Meaning, I am still in a training position and can turn to Matt for any help, but at the same time I am actively mentoring younger scientists and they turn to me for help.
- How did you get into science? At some point in college, I jokingly said I wanted to be a forever student because I authentically liked academia. Then I learned that was an actual thing, you just needed a PhD. Being a scientist is the ultimate forever student career.
