TGen Helps Neighbors in Need with All Hands Food Drive

TGen supports St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance with canned goods drive.

TGen faculty and staff contributed more than 700 pounds of beans, peanut butter, rice, ramen and more during our annual All Hands food drive to help neighbors in need served by St. Mary's Food Bank in Phoenix and Flagstaff Family Food Center in Flagstaff.
The TGen Culture Committee plans fun, service-oriented events like this to build camaraderie and give back to the communities that support our science. We held a friendly competition among the different team at TGen headquarters and at TGen North, with the team that loaded up their donation box with the most items winning a pizza party.
Once all of our food was collected — and the winners in Facilities, TGen Foundation, Ashion and Communications notified of their pizza prize — a group of TGen volunteers delivered the goods to St. Mary's Food Bank, where we helped assemble 1,440 emergency food boxes! Thank you to our box-packing volunteers: Mia Bean, Amanda Hanson, Lindsey Kent, Barb Lehn, Jeff Watkins and Danielle Wilhelmsen.
TGen provides eight hours of volunteer time for every full-time employee to serve our fellow citizens. Our next Culture Committee activity will be a Back-To-School Backpack Drive.
