Dr. Ramesh K. Ramanathan serves as Medical Director of the TGen Clinical Research Services (TCRS) clinic at Scottsdale Healthcare. Dr. Ramanathan joined TCRS in spring 2007. In addition to his role as TCRS Medical Director, he holds appointments as Senior Investigator and Deputy Director, Translational Research Division at TGen and as Clinical Professor of Medicine for the College of Medicine at the Phoenix campus of University of Arizona. Prior to this appointment, he served as Associate Professor and Director of the Gastrointestinal Oncology Program at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute.
Dr. Ramanathan’s research interests are in new drug development, and he specializes in the treatment of GI cancers with an emphasis on colon and pancreatic cancer. Over the last 10 years, Dr. Ramanathan has been involved in the development of a number of new drugs and treatments for colon and pancreatic cancers. Dr. Ramanathan has authored or coauthored more than 100 abstracts, 60 manuscripts and book chapters. He also serves as an ad hoc reviewer for a number of journals. Dr. Ramanathan has also been an active member of the Pancreatic Cancer Research Team (PCRT) for 3 years.
