HELIOS SCHOLARS PROGRAM APPLICATION

Welcome to the Helios Scholars Program application process. The Helios Scholars Program at TGen is an eight week paid internship. Students work under the mentorship of an experienced investigator and their scientific teams. Interns will conduct authentic research, receive training in biosafety, ethics, career choices and science communication, give an oral presentation to their peers on their research, and create and present a scientific poster.

To be eligible to apply...
  • At the time of participation in the program, a high school student must:
    • be enrolled in an Arizona accredited high school and be a permanent resident of Arizona.
    • be at least 16 years old (by June 1, 2010).
    • be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • At the time of participation in the program, an undergraduate or graduate or medical student must:
    • be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited Arizona college or university OR be a graduate of an Arizona high school attending an accredited academic institution out of state.
    • be a US citizen or permanent resident or have an F1 sponsored visa.
The majority of the internships will take place at TGen headquarters located in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. A few internships may also be available at our Scottsdale and Flagstaff facilities.

The Helios Scholars Program does not provide information on an individual's performance for applicants, their families or their teacher during or after the selection process. All materials submitted by the applicant, and all materials generated during the review process (e.g. readers' and interviewers' notes) remain confidential, as do the recommendations received on the applicants' behalf.
