TGen's relationship with the community is a vital component of the Institute's overall success. The objective of TGen's Education and Outreach Division is to increase the community’s working knowledge of genomics, and to educate, train, and inspire the next generation of researchers and physicians.
TGen's relationship with the Arizona community has brought about the establishment of productive relationships with local schools, business leaders and government, as well as the creation of several educational and outreach programs, activities and joint ventures. Examples of some of these programs include the Helios Scholars Program at TGen, Academic Year Internships, the Healthy Avondale 2010 & You Program, and hands-on training opportunities for qualified Maricopa Community College students.
Upon request, TGen also provides speakers and guided tours of the labs.
As a leader in Arizona's growing bioscience sector, TGen will continue to create new partnerships and help educate the community about the importance of translational genomics research. |
